Product Ecolabelling or Greenwash?

20120211-211205.jpg

The website Environmental Graffiti has posted this great infographic illustrating ways in which product manufacturers use environmental greenwash in an attempt to hoodwink us into buying their products under the assumption that they are “environmentally friendly”.

Check out the original story and illustration.

The good news, they say, is that:
– 31.7% of DIY construction products use veridical environmental labelling.
– Greenwash of Toys and Baby products is more exaggeration than flat out lies.
– 32% of cleaning products use ‘certification by legitimate Eco-labels’.
